What is Project Upcycle?

Project Upcycle is House of Parvi's in-house programme for garments that have reached the end of their first life. It covers customer take-back and our own studio deadstock. Each returned piece is assessed individually and takes one of four routes — repair, upcycle, fibre recycling, or donation — all handled by our own team in Delhi.

How do I return a House of Parvi garment?

Message us on WhatsApp or write to us. You can ship the piece to our Delhi studio, or drop it off in person if you are nearby. We do not currently offer reverse pickup; the customer arranges shipping.

What happens to my garment after I return it?

One of four in-house routes. Repaired and resold if the piece can be brought back to condition. Upcycled into a new garment or accessory if the material asks for a second design. Broken down into fibre and returned to Panipat, India's textile-recycling capital, if the garment is beyond wear. Donated as usable fabric to maker communities if it is best served as material for training or patchwork.

Is Project Upcycle running today?

The programme is designed and ready. Each of the four routes has been prepared in our studio and will be activated as pieces come home. House of Parvi is a young house with a small collector base; we are welcoming the first returns as our collectors' pieces reach the end of their first life.

Which garments qualify for Project Upcycle?

Any House of Parvi piece, at any age, in any condition. Project Upcycle also covers our own studio deadstock and offcuts, so nothing leaves our workshop as waste in the first place.

Does House of Parvi compost old garments?

No. Composting is not one of the four routes. Returned garments are repaired, upcycled, recycled into fibre, or donated — never composted, and never sent to landfill.

The garment industry's end-of-life problem is not about individual pieces — it is about a system with no return path. Project Upcycle is our attempt to build one, at the scale of our own house. It also covers our studio deadstock and offcuts, so nothing leaves our workshop as waste in the first place.

India Never Stopped Reusing Cloth

Kantha layers worn saris into new quilted textiles. Gudri stitches patchwork bedspreads from used clothing. Panipat, a hundred kilometres from our studio, is where the world sends its cast-off garments to be given another life. Circular fashion is not a Western import here — it is a practice we are quietly returning to.

When your piece has reached its limit, message us on WhatsApp or write in. Ship it to our Delhi studio, or drop it off if you are nearby. You'll receive a note on which of the four routes it took, and why we chose that one.

Project Upcycle

The Journey — four in-house routes for every returned garment:

Repaired & resold: Assessed as repairable. Cleaned and mended in our own studio, then offered to a new owner at a reduced price.
Upcycled into a new piece: Reworked by our team into a new garment or accessory. The original material lives on in a different form.
Fibre recycled: Broken down into fibre and returned to India’s textile-recycling capacity — Panipat, ninety kilometres from our Delhi studio.
Donated: Passed on as usable fabric to makers and craft communities for training, samples, or patchwork. Nothing is wasted without consideration.
