Bamboo Hanger
A Hanger That Grew. Not One That Was Made.
A plastic hanger can take centuries to break down in landfill. Our hanger grew from the ground in three years — hand-bent from a single bamboo culm and finished with a brass hook. Bamboo needs no pesticide, no replanting, and very little water.
From a Shoot to a Shoulder
A Grass, Not a Tree
Bamboo is a grass, not a tree. It can grow up to a metre a day in peak conditions. It reaches full harvestable maturity in 3–5 years. When cut, it regrows from the existing root system — no replanting required. It sequesters carbon as it grows.
Billions Produced. Almost None Recycled.
The plastic hanger is one of the most overlooked objects in fashion. Billions are produced each year. Almost none are recycled. Most are landfilled within weeks of first use. A hanger that returns to the earth at end of life — or is kept and repaired — is a meaningful difference made at scale.
Beautiful in a Way Plastic Is Not
A bamboo hanger is beautiful in a way a plastic hanger is not. The grain of the culm, the weight in the hand, the small warmth of the material — it communicates something about the garment hung on it before you have even looked. The brass hook rings when it touches the rod. The whole object was made to be held.
“The hanger is the first thing you see. It should be worth seeing.”
